Bus Operator:
Safely operate a transit bus on assigned routes throughout our service area. Provide exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming environment for all riders. Assist passengers with professionalism, courtesy, and respect. Represent The Rapid and your Union with pride and professionalism. Why Choose a Career as a Bus Operator? What you will need:
Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements. Possess a valid Michigan Driver's license with less than 4 points. Points greater than 4 will automatically disqualify the applicant from consideration. Ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical. Be drug free. Maintain an excellent driving record. Able to interpret and follow run guidelines for assigned routes. High school diploma or GED. The ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee and customer safety. Able to safely secure mobility devices in accordance with FTA rules for ADA passengers. Minimum of one year related experience.
