In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their well-being and fostering a positive travel experience. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Pick up and drop off students at designated stops, ensuring punctuality and safety at all times. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning of all systems. Manage student behavior onboard by applying effective behavior management techniques and fostering a respectful environment. Assist students with special needs or disabilities, providing compassionate support as needed. Complete all required documentation, including trip logs, incident reports, and safety checks accurately and promptly. Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a strong understanding of traffic laws and safety protocols. Proficiency in English is required; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging with diverse communities we service. Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and childcare awareness. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues. Strong customer service skills to foster positive interactions with students, parents, and school staff. Knowledge of behavior management strategies suitable for working with children of various ages. Experience in teaching or writing skills is beneficial for communicating rules clearly and effectively.
