Parent Facilitator
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum High School/GED. Good communication / organizational skills. Working knowledge of computer for email and word processing. Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so.

AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership that serves to increase parent, partner, and community involvement in the school. Familiarizes parents with curriculum requirements to increase involvement in the home. Solicits parental involvement in the school decision-making process. Recruits volunteers and tutors. Organizes seminars that promote parenting, literacy, technology, other job skills, awareness, and education. Organizes in-service training programs. Provides appropriate information to parents about community and government assistance programs. Uses available human and material resources to support the instructional program. Initiates new programs and instructional activities for parents. Develops materials and strategies for parents to use to assist students. Interacts effectively with students, co-workers, parents, and community. Obtains and maintains CDL bus license. Completes the pre-trip and post-trip inspection. Drives a bus when called upon to do so while maintaining proficiency in driving skills. Maintains bus route schedule. Maintains discipline and reports undisciplined students to school administration. Discharge students only at authorized stops and transport only authorized students. Complies with local and state traffic regulations and observes all mandatory safety regulations. Reports delays and accidents. Cleans the interior of the bus. Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness. Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
: Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders. Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required. Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License. Applicant must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus. REV 04/25
