Job Description
Bus Driver This position will provide safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive and positive atmosphere working with children and will perform pre and post trip inspections. A staff ride-along will ensure that the passengers maintain a safe and acceptable conduct. Safely transports assigned passengers while driving the YMCA's bus Develops friendly and positive relationships with staff, children, volunteers and parents. Observes and enforces the YMCA transportation policies and procedures with assistance of staff, keeps an accurate attendance record daily by calling into sites looking for any missing children. Immediately reports any safety concerns to driving, attributed by the passengers, to the staff ride-along. The staff ride-along will handle all redirection and guidance to the passengers to assure that they are following proper bus behavior, per policy. Observes individual school's guidelines for picking up/delivering children Conducts required safety inspections before and after operating the bus and reports concerns to supervisor Completes thorough before and after trip checks each day and records all information. Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Cleans out bus each day. At least 18 years old Current Class B Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement Current Medical Examination Card - may be obtained upon hire Approved prior driving history with former DOT employers, if applicable Approved driving history based on the YMCA's Insurance company standards Benefits All employees receive a free YMCA membership! Shifts Needed:
