Duties Safely operate school bus according to traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Transport students to and from school and extracurricular activities, with punctuality and care. Ensure passenger safety by enforcing behavior management policies Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify mechanical condition, safety equipment, and compliance with vehicle codes. Respond promptly to traffic changes, emergency situations, or unexpected delays with quick decision-making skills. Maintain clear communication with staff, parents, and passengers using effective communication skills. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary. Assist with loading and unloading students safely Keep accurate records of trips, incidents, vehicle maintenance checks, and student attendance as per school policy guidelines. Promote a positive environment by managing student behavior professionally and courteously during transit. Experience Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement or equivalent certification required. Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles preferred; experience working with children is highly valued. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures specific to school transportation. Familiarity with child behavior management techniques and childcare practices is advantageous. Multilingual skills are a plus for communicating effectively with diverse student populations.
