As a School Transport Driver, you will be responsible for operating school 25 passenger and other transit vehicles with professionalism, compassion, and adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Responsibilities Safely operate school 25 passenger vehicles, and transit vans, according to established routes, schedules, and traffic laws. Assist students with boarding, disembarking, and, ensuring their safety at all times. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including emergency stop procedures when necessary. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Communicate effectively with students, coaches, school staff, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address concerns. Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected delays to keep routes on schedule while prioritizing safety. Requirements

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A FBI AND BCI BACKGROUND CHECK

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus or transit vehicle operation. Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation; experience working with children is highly preferred. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, school personnel, and emergency responders. Demonstrated defensive driving skills with a quick response to traffic changes; knowledge of school policy guidelines is essential.
