Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic childcare team as a Bus Driver and become a vital part of providing safe, reliable, and friendly transit services. In this energetic role, you will operate a 3 passenger mini-bus—ensuring passengers reach their destinations comfortably and securely. Your dedication to safety, excellent customer service, and adherence to traffic laws will help create a positive travel experience for all riders. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to serve your community while developing valuable driving skills. Noah's Ark is seeking an individual able to perform an AM and PM bus route, transporting students to-and-from daycare location to the perspective schools in the Waynesboro Area School District. All continued education, and CDL upkeep is financially covered by the childcare. Duties Safely operate a mini-bus in accordance with all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations. Transport students to their elementary schools routes while maintaining punctuality. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and emergency stop procedures when necessary. Maintain a clean, safe vehicle environment by performing pre-trip inspections and reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Communicate clearly with passengers using effective communication skills, managing behavior and ensuring passenger safety at all times. Respond quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments to ensure timely arrivals and departures. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class C or higher, with appropriate endorsements for bus operation and passenger transport. Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving or transit bus operation preferred. Knowledge of traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation. Possess First aid certification (including CPR) or be willing to obtain First Aid Certification. Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and excellent behavior management skills. Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with passengers and team members. Familiarity with student discipline policies, school policies, and vehicle codes relevant to transit operations.
