Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our transportation team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of vehicles, including buses, vans, and transit vehicles, to transport passengers efficiently and securely. Your primary focus will be ensuring passenger safety, adhering to traffic laws and transportation safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community mobility while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles such as school buses, transit buses, vans, and paratransit vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies Transport passengers including children, seniors, or individuals with disabilities while ensuring their safety and comfort Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding, disembarking, and provide wheelchair assistance as needed Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and perform emergency stop procedures when necessary Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and passenger counts in compliance with transportation safety regulations Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical soundness and report any issues promptly Communicate effectively with passengers, team members, and dispatchers using clear English or multilingual communication skills Requirements Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport and wheelchair assistance Proven experience driving buses or transit vehicles, including school bus driving or paratransit operations Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and state/local commercial driving laws governing passenger transportation Strong understanding of transportation safety regulations and emergency response procedures for transportation Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage student discipline or behavior management when working with children or seniors Mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and basic troubleshooting Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse communities Valid first aid certification (including CPR) preferred but not required; willingness to obtain if necessary Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes and adapt driving routes accordingly Join our team to make a positive impact on our community by providing safe, reliable transportation services. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
