Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join the Florence School District Three team as a full-time Bus Driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and school-related activities while ensuring a positive and secure environment. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to student safety, and the ability to manage a diverse group of students. Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips in a timely manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition. Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment. Monitor student behavior during transport and enforce safety rules. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any concerns. Complete required paperwork, including daily logs and incident reports. Attend training sessions and meetings as required. Respond to emergencies and provide first aid if necessary. Assist in the loading and unloading of students, particularly those with special needs. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport. Clean driving record and a minimum number of violations within the past three years. Previous experience driving a bus or working with children preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively. Must pass a background check and drug screening. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus. Flexibility to work early mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
