Job Description

The City of Johnson City, Tennessee has openings for school bus drivers (Transit Operator I and Transit Operator II positions). Online applications are being accepted for temporary, part-time and full-time positions with school bus transit divisions. Enjoy a daily school bus route while having many hours of the day free. Bus route is a morning shift and an afternoon shift. Employees are under direct supervision of a trainer and/or transit supervisor. Drivers and operators are responsible for daily reports of passengers carried. Performance reviews are based on safe and satisfactory operation of the vehicle. Starting Pay:
Transit Operator I -$19.72/hr. Transit Operator II- $21.05/hr. Acceptable Experience and Training Completion of high school or GED and some experience in driving a bus or equivalent vehicle; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. For Relief Drivers, a CDL license is required, and training is provided. For all School Bus Transit Operators, a CDL Class A, B, or C with Passenger endorsement and School endorsement is required. Pre-employment DOT physical, drug screening, background check and motor vehicle record check required.
