Reporting to the Director of Transportation, our Bus Drivers are responsible for safely and efficiently operating a school bus to transport students along designated routes to and from school, as well as to extracurricular activities and events. This position is ideal for a person seeking a flexible schedule and able to commit to evening and weekend hours.
Starting Pay Rate:
$25.00 per hourGeneral Duties:
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation Transport students to and from school every day on established routes in a safe and timely manner Transport students to extracurricular events and activities including sporting events, field trips, etc. Clean the bus as necessary to maintain the professional appearance and sanitation of the vehicle Report all accidents, vehicle damanage, student injuries and mechanical problems in a timely manner Maintain professional appearance Display professionalism in working with students, partents, staff and community Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation for the efficient operation of the departmentExperience and Education Required:
High School Diploma Valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class B) with P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements Minimum of 3 years of bus driving experience Must be 21 years of age or older with a satisfactory driving record Must possess good communication skills and the ability to relate well with students and adults Must be able read and understand documents including policies and procedures manuals Must be physically able to perform and demonstrate emergency evacuation procedures, including pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and use emergency exits at any location on the bus Must be able to maintain student discipline and ensure that student behavior is not a distraction to safe driving Must be willing to complete requirements for the following, if not previously satisfied: Criminal history check Controlled substance test DOT physical Bus driver safety course Basic first aid and CPR certification Diocese of Dallas Safe Environment Program Must be currently authorized to work in the United States Qualified candidates please send cover letter, resume, and proof of CDL license to Bishop Dunne Human Resources at .
