Job Description
Little Rascals Daycare is hiring a reliable and safety-focused Bus Driver to transport our children to and from school, field trips, and other activities. The ideal candidate is punctual, patient, and passionate about the safety and well-being of the children in our care. Key Responsibilities Safely transport children to and from designated pickup/drop-off locations on an established daily route Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is safe and roadworthy Maintain accurate passenger logs, attendance records, and route documentation Assist children boarding and exiting the vehicle in a safe and orderly manner Ensure all children are properly secured in seat belts or safety harnesses Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any vehicle issues, accidents, or incidents Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained Follow all state and federal transportation regulations and daycare policies Occasionally assist with field trip transportation as needed Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement School Bus (S) endorsement required or ability to obtain prior to start date Clean driving record with no major violations Previous experience driving a school bus or passenger transport vehicle preferred Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Excellent knowledge of local roads and traffic laws Patient, responsible, and comfortable working with young children Must pass a DOT physical, background check, and drug screening Schedule & Compensation Part-time split shift (morning and afternoon routes) with potential for additional hours Competitive pay based on experience Mileage and route pay may apply
