The Operations Department seeks an energetic, hardworking, and dependable individual to serve as a part-time Bus Driver. This individual will safely transport students to and from school, field trips, athletic events, and other school activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The successful candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with students of all ages. This individual will report to the Transportation Supervisor and work collaboratively with transportation personnel, faculty, staff, students, and families while embracing Waterford School's mission, vision, and values. Competencies & Skills Strong commitment to student safety Dependable, punctual, and professional Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students of all ages Sound judgment and ability to respond appropriately to unexpected situations Ability to follow established routes, schedules, policies, and safety procedures Valid CDL; Waterford will provide training for additional required endorsements Primary Responsibilities Safely transport students to and from school on assigned morning and afternoon routes. Drive a school bus for field trips, athletic events, school activities, and other transportation needs. Follow all School policies and applicable transportation and safety regulations. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain a safe and professional environment for students while operating School vehicles. Promptly report vehicle, maintenance, safety, or student concerns to the Transportation Supervisor. Maintain assigned schedules and communicate transportation delays or concerns as needed. Report to the Transportation Supervisor and complete other assigned transportation-related tasks. Qualifications Must be at least 23 years of age. Valid CDL required; Waterford will provide training for additional required endorsements. Must have and maintain a clean driving record. Must successfully pass a full background check, physical assessment, and drug screening. Previous bus driving or professional driving experience preferred. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position. Waterford School is a smoke-, vape-, and drug-free campus. Schedule & Compensation Part-time position, approximately 25-30 hours per week. Monday through Friday from mid-August through the end of June each year, with possible part-time work during the summer.
Typical morning shift:
6:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.
Typical afternoon shift:
3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Pay:
$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
Work location:
In person. The Waterford campus is set on 45 acres at the foot of Utah's Wasatch Mountains, one of North America's premier outdoor and recreational areas.
