Obey all traffic laws; observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses Performs daily pre/post trip operation and safety inspections as required of the school bus and related equipment (e.g. brake system, oil levels, coolant, tire pressure, exterior condition, etc.). This includes refueling, checking and maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle inside and out (e.g. sweeping, windows, lights, mirrors, etc.), checking for damage to the exterior/interior of the school bus. Complete forms, records, and reports, legibly and accurately, in a timely manner as required Meet responsibilities of assigned schedule; notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or inability to meet assigned schedule Ensure safe evacuation of students from bus in emergency situations Maintains control of student passengers for the purpose of ensuring compliance with rules and regulations providing for safe transport and operation of the bus Report all student incidents to the Athletic Director or designee Transport only authorized students & staff Maintain a professional image, appearance, and demeanorREQUIREMENTS
Agrees with Cascade Christian Schools' Teaching Statement and Statement of Faith Christian Role model in attitude, speech, and action Be at least 21 years of age with one-year experience as driver of truck or commercial vehicle or at least five (5) years of experience as driver of a passenger vehicle. A valid Washington Driver's License, with acceptable driving record required Current DOT medical certification Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and certification by the State of Washington as an authorized school bus driver, or ability to obtain. Successful completion of school bus driver training course, which includes 40+ hours of classroom and in-bus, on the road training. Valid First Aid/CPR certification required React quickly and appropriately to visual and/or audible stimuli; Have a High School Diploma or GED Good communication skills; be able to communicate clearly and tactfully with students and adults Maintain confidentiality Ability to lift 50 lbs Complete mandated school related training annually Average of 3.5 trips per week, primarily supporting junior high and high school athletic events Additional trips for district needs (e.g. field trips, special events) as required. Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, depending on athletic and district schedulesWORK HOURS
