In this energetic and rewarding role, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey. Your positive attitude and excellent communication skills will help create a welcoming environment for children, parents, and school staff alike. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' daily lives while enjoying a dynamic work environment. My buses are parked inside on concrete floors with automatic garage doors. Routes consist of roughly two hours in the am and two hours in the pm. Four hours a day with extra trips once in awhile if help is needed. Also could be looking for just am or pm drivers if that would suit you better. Duties Safely operate school buses and following all traffic laws and safety regulations Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal working condition, including mechanical checks and safety equipment verification Transport students to designated locations, adhering to scheduled routes and pickup/drop-off times Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers to coordinate pickups, drop-offs, and address any concerns or emergencies Manage student behavior on the bus using positive behavior management techniques to maintain a safe and respectful environment Assist young children or students with special needs, providing basic childcare support when necessary Complete all required documentation such as incident reports, and maintenance reports accurately and promptly Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a valid driver's license appropriate for passenger transport Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities Knowledge of driving safety protocols, traffic laws, and vehicle maintenance basics Ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds; experience in childcare or teaching is advantageous Excellent customer service skills to foster positive interactions with students, parents, and school personnel Familiarity with behavior management techniques to handle student conduct professionally and calmly Multilingual skills can enhance communication with non-English speaking families; experience in senior care or behavior management is beneficial Join us as a School Bus Driver where your dedication ensures safe journeys for our students every day!
