Specimen Collection Technician Anchorage, AK | 30-35 hours/week | $20.00/hour DOE | Paid Travel We are a small, locally owned substance abuse testing company seeking a dependable, professional Specimen Collection Technician to join our Anchorage team. Important Occupational Requirement — Male Applicant Required This position requires directly observed urine specimen collections of male donors . Applicable collection procedures require the individual performing the direct observation to be the same sex as the donor . Because this particular opening is responsible for directly observing male donors, this position must be filled by a male employee. This is an essential job-function requirement of the position, not a preference. Applicants should consider this requirement before applying. Reliability, flexibility, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail are more important to us than previous experience in this field. We will train the right person. This position includes specimen collection, client service, administrative duties, office upkeep, and travel to client locations in Anchorage and throughout Alaska. What You'll Do Collect urine, breath, hair, and oral-fluid specimens following established procedures and Chain of Custody requirements Perform directly observed urine collections when required Complete collection paperwork and electronic records accurately Provide professional, respectful service to clients Travel to customer locations in Anchorage and elsewhere in Alaska, including occasional overnight travel Maintain clean, sanitary, organized, and well-stocked specimen collection areas and workspaces, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of collection rooms, counters, equipment, and common work areas Help maintain the overall cleanliness and professional appearance of the office and assist with routine office upkeep as needed Assist with scheduling, phones, email, records, scanning, filing, supply management, and other office duties Maintain strict confidentiality and follow applicable procedures and regulations

What We're Looking For Required:

Dependable, punctual, hardworking, and professional Flexible schedule and willingness to travel Reliable personal transportation and current vehicle insurance Valid driver's license High school diploma or GED Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office, and web-based applications Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures consistently Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check Preferred but not required: Phlebotomy, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or other medical training Healthcare, laboratory, specimen-collection, customer-service, or administrative experience No previous specimen-collection experience is required. Training is provided. Schedule Approximately 30-35 hours per week Primarily weekday/daytime hours Occasional early morning, evening, weekend, or after-hours assignments Occasional overnight travel Additional/full-time hours may be available when coverage or workload requires Because our clients' testing needs can change, schedule flexibility is important for this position.
