Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Delivery Driver (Courier) to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting packages, documents, and goods to various destinations. Your energetic approach will ensure timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate various types of delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, unload, and secure packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary. Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile devices and GPS technology to optimize time and fuel consumption. Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including signatures, receipts, and delivery logs. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging professionally with clients during drop-offs and pickups. Conduct routine vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards; report any maintenance issues promptly. Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items, ensuring proper manual handling procedures are maintained at all times. Qualifications Proven delivery driver experience with a strong understanding of route driving and warehouse operations. Warehouse experience or familiarity with material handling equipment operation is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling in accordance with safe lifting practices. Excellent customer service skills combined with clear communication abilities. Comfortable using mobile devices for navigation, route updates, and delivery documentation.
