Job Description

Delivers meals in bulk from senior activity center kitchen to congregate meal sites. May also deliver meals to identified homes in St. Mary's County and other sites as directed; checks the status of the seniors at their homes.
MAXIMUM 10 HOURS PER WEEK.
Scheduled times vary based on delivery schedule needs. Potential times worked are between 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. for 2-3 hours/day Delivers meals in bulk to the senior activity centers and congregate housing sites; Delivers meals to homes in St. Mary's County; Checks current status of the consumers in their homes; Maintains records of meals delivered; Maintains County vehicles; Delivers interoffice mail and program supplies; Performs other duties as assigned. Ability to gain working knowledge of St. Mary's County Government policies and procedures; Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle; Knowledge of County roads; Ability to effectively assess and evaluate the consumers' needs; Ability to communicate effectively with consumers and staff; Knowledge of basic medical principles and concepts. High school diploma or G.E.D. required; and Six months to one year of related experience; or Or equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Work requires moderate physical effort in the handling of materials or boxes 50+pounds and/or continual standing or walking of 80%+ of the time. Work environment involves everyday moderate risks or discomforts including extensive driving and lifting.
Additional Requirements:
Must successfully pass background investigation with favorable results; Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
