Job Description
V&R Courier Service is seeking a reliable, professional independent contractor for a recurring medical courier route originating in the Alamogordo, New Mexico area. This is a dedicated weekday route transporting properly packaged medical/laboratory materials to a destination in the El Paso area. We are looking for someone interested in consistent, long-term route work who understands that reliability and on-time performance are critical. Route Overview Monday-Friday afternoon availability Approximately 170 route miles round trip One scheduled pickup and delivery per service day Approximately 245 service days annually Contractor provides their own reliable vehicle Contractor is responsible for fuel and normal vehicle operating expenses Fixed per-service-day compensation Long-term opportunity subject to contract award and continued performance Minimum Requirements Valid U.S. driver's license Reliable, insured vehicle Current automobile insurance Clean/professional appearance Smartphone with dependable communication Ability to consistently meet scheduled pickup and delivery requirements Ability to obtain required facility/access credentials Willingness to complete required medical courier, privacy, safety and specimen-transport training Ability to follow chain-of-custody and confidentiality procedures Dependable backup/contingency capability strongly preferred Medical courier experience is preferred but not required for an otherwise qualified and dependable contractor. Compensation This is a fixed-rate-per-completed-route 1099 opportunity. When applying, please provide your expected all-inclusive daily rate for approximately 170 route miles. Your proposed rate should account for your vehicle, fuel and normal operating expenses.
