Experienced Medical Courier -
Personal Vehicle Required Location:
Holloman AFB, New Mexico 88330
Route:
Holloman AFB, NM to Fort Bliss/El Paso, TX Job type: Part-time independent contractor Expected hours: Approximately 22.5 hours per week
Pay:
$25.39 per route hour, plus a $100 weekly vehicle/fuel allowance for a full five-day service week Estimated weekly compensation: Approximately $671 Anticipated start date: September 14, 2026 Number of openings: Two This anticipated position is contingent upon CBL Enterprises receiving the Government contract award. Work is not guaranteed until the award is confirmed. Important Experience Requirement Applicants must have at least one year of professional courier, scheduled-route delivery, medical delivery, pharmacy delivery, laboratory delivery or similar commercial transportation experience. Medical courier, laboratory specimen, pharmacy, chain-of-custody or military-installation delivery experience is strongly preferred. Food-delivery or rideshare experience by itself does not satisfy the professional courier experience requirement. Position Summary CBL Enterprises is seeking an experienced and dependable independent medical courier to transport one Government-packaged and sealed container of laboratory specimens daily from Holloman Medical Group at Holloman Air Force Base to William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. This is a time-sensitive medical route requiring excellent attendance, professional communication, secure handling and strict compliance with pickup and delivery requirements. The route is approximately 85 miles each way and 170 miles round trip. The selected courier must use and maintain their own reliable vehicle and be prepared to drive approximately 850 miles during a normal five-day service week. Compensation $25.39 per route hour Approximately 4.5 route hours per service day $100 weekly vehicle/fuel allowance for a full five-day service week Estimated total compensation of approximately $671 per full service week No separate or additional mileage reimbursement Final payment terms, federal-holiday treatment and Government down-day treatment will be included in the independent contractor agreement The weekly vehicle/fuel allowance is intended to contribute toward gasoline and use of the courier's personal vehicle. The courier will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in safe and reliable operating condition. Schedule Monday through
Thursday:
Pickup between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Mountain Time Friday:
Pickup between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mountain Time Approximately 4.5 route hours per service day Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and designated Government down days Approximately 245 service days annually Consistent availability for the complete schedule is required Primary Responsibilities Arrive within the required pickup window every scheduled service day. Receive the Government-packaged and sealed specimen container from the Holloman Medical Group laboratory. Transport the container directly and securely to William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Maintain custody, security and accountability of specimens until delivery. Complete required pickup, delivery and chain-of-custody documentation. Protect medical documentation, Personally Identifiable Information and Protected Health Information. Follow HIPAA, Privacy Act, military-installation and specimen-transportation requirements. Communicate pickup, departure, arrival and delivery status to CBL management. Notify CBL management immediately of delays, accidents, vehicle problems, access issues or delivery concerns. Maintain a neat and professional appearance. Wear required company identification while performing services. Follow all civilian and military-installation traffic and safety regulations. Minimum Qualifications At least one year of professional courier, commercial delivery-route or similar transportation experience. Demonstrated experience completing scheduled and time-sensitive routes. Valid U.S. driver's license. Acceptable driving record. Reliable personal vehicle capable of approximately 850 miles of weekly driving. Current vehicle registration and automobile insurance. Willingness to obtain any required business-use or courier insurance. Ability to obtain and maintain access to Holloman AFB and Fort Bliss. Reliable smartphone with GPS, telephone and messaging capability. Ability to read, speak, understand and write English fluently. Ability and willingness to complete required HIPAA, privacy, safety and biological-specimen transportation training. Strong attendance, dependability and communication skills. Dependable backup transportation plan for emergencies or vehicle problems. Preferred Qualifications Previous medical courier or laboratory-specimen transportation experience. Pharmacy, blood-product, healthcare or diagnostic-material delivery experience. Experience maintaining chain-of-custody or proof-of-delivery records. Previous experience entering and delivering to military installations. Familiarity with HIPAA, PII and PHI requirements. Experience completing long-distance scheduled routes. This Position Is Best Suited for Someone Who Lives within reasonable driving distance of Holloman AFB. Understands that the route is approximately 170 miles round trip. Is willing to use and maintain their own vehicle. Accepts the stated compensation and vehicle/fuel allowance. Can commit to the complete Monday-through-Friday schedule. Understands the importance of protecting time-sensitive medical specimens. Communicates immediately when a delay or problem occurs. Has dependable backup transportation. Please Do Not Apply If You do not have professional courier or scheduled-route experience. You are unwilling to use your own vehicle. You are unable to drive approximately 170 miles per service day. You require mileage reimbursement in addition to the stated weekly allowance. You cannot consistently meet the Monday-through-Friday pickup schedule. You cannot obtain access to Holloman AFB and Fort Bliss. You do not have dependable backup transportation.
