Job Description

Position Details Full Time Mid Day/Evening Shift 100% Travel A Brief Overview Responsible for accurate, timely, and safe pickup and delivery of supplies across the UH system, both internal and external. Key responsibilities include safe driving practices, loading and unloading supplies, navigating high-volume routes, and completing deliveries promptly with a customer-friendly approach. What You Will Do Responsible for pickup and deliveries from physician offices, clinics, and other locations both internal and external. Ensure the accurate, timely, and safe delivery of hospital supplies and equipment (specimens, supplies, medications, mail, instruments, equipment, etc.) by following proper handling, storage, and transportation procedures in accordance with established routes and schedules. Track and document all pickups and deliveries, ensuring bar codes are scanned and signatures obtained when required, using a hand held device to update delivery statuses and navigate via GPS. Loading, scanning, and organizing supplies up to 50 pounds in the vehicle. Complete and file daily documentation. Maintain vehicle in excellent operating/appearance condition. Check fluid levels daily and perform basic safety inspections of mechanical systems. Report any malfunctions or issues to management for prompt resolution. Ability to spend long hours driving and and working in all weather conditions. Sorts and delivers reports, supplies and other items to various internal and external locations. Provide professional service, frequently in a fast paced environment. Maintain a good driving record, and meet and sustain eligibility requirements set by UH's insurance provider to operate company vehicles. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education High School Equivalent / GED (Required) Work Experience 1+ years driving/courier experience (Required) and Courier, hospital and/or customer service experience (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Professional oral and written communication skills. (Required proficiency) Maintain good driving record. (Required proficiency) Demonstrated ability to use PCs and general office equipment (i.e. printer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
