INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR DRIVER
Vancouver, WA / Portland, OR | Part-Time to Full-Time | 1099 Independent Contractor $17/hour + Fuel/ Mileage Reimbursement We're looking for a reliable, self-directed Independent Contractor Driver to help pick up phones, OTC DME, and other consumer electronics from customers throughout the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR area. This is a part-time position to start, with the opportunity to grow into full-time work as the business grows. The initial schedule is Monday-Saturday, 12:00 PM-6:00 PM
PACIFIC TIME.
This is a hands-on, field-based role. You'll spend most of your time on the road traveling to customer homes and meetup locations, picking up electronics and medical equipment, communicating with sellers, and helping move purchased products into inventory. What You'll Do Drive to customer homes and public meetup locations throughout Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR to pick up phones, medical equipment, other consumer electronics Meet with customers and sellers professionally and provide a positive experience Inspect and evaluate devices at pickup for basic condition and functionality Confirm that the items match the agreed-upon purchase Communicate with customers regarding pickup times, locations, and transactions Safely transport purchased electronics back to the designated location Keep purchased items organized and secure during transportation Maintain accurate records of pickups and items collected Communicate any issues or discrepancies with the appropriate team member Assist with basic inventory handling and organization as needed Schedule Monday-Saturday 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Pacific Time Part-time to start Opportunity to transition to full-time as the business grows Fuel reimbursement will be available each week The role is primarily local to the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR area. Occasional travel to other areas may be required on a case-by-case basis. What You Need Valid driver's license Clean driving record Reliable personal vehicle Current proof of personal vehicle insurance Clean and acceptable driving record Comfortable driving independently throughout the Vancouver and Portland metro areas Comfortable using your own vehicle for work-related travel Strong communication and customer service skills Able to work independently without constant supervision Comfortable using a smartphone for navigation, communication, and scheduling Able to safely handle and transport phones, medical equipment, and other electronics Previous delivery, driving, customer service, or sales experience is a plus MVR and background check required prior to start. Enjoys driving and being out on the road rather than working behind a desk Currently drives for DoorDash, Uber, Instacart, or similar gig platforms and wants a more consistent schedule and guaranteed hourly pay Is reliable and comfortable working independently Enjoys meeting and communicating with different people throughout the day Is familiar with the Vancouver and Portland area or is comfortable learning the area Takes pride in keeping their vehicle and work materials organized Wants a part-time opportunity that could eventually become full-time Can handle customer pickups professionally and safely Physical Requirements Regular driving throughout the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR metro areas Frequent entering and exiting of a vehicle throughout the workday Must be able to safely handle and carry electronics and boxes weighing up to 30 lbs Employment Classification This position starts as a part -time, 1099 independent contractor role, with the potential additional bonuses when absorbed full-time.
