Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic General Manager to lead the daily operations of a busy convenience store, deli, and gas station. Responsibilities Lead and motivate a diverse retail team, including assistant managers, cashiers, deli staff, and gas station attendants, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Oversee daily store operations such as inventory management, merchandising, stocking, pricing strategies, and POS (Point of Sale) system utilization to maximize sales and profitability. Manage employee orientation, training & development initiatives to enhance team skills in customer service, sales techniques, safety procedures, and operational tasks. Conduct interviewing and recruiting efforts to attract qualified candidates for various roles within the store. Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping duties, cash handling procedures, and budget management to ensure accurate financial records. Maintain inventory control through regular stock audits, purchasing decisions, and vendor negotiations to optimize product availability while minimizing waste. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and store policies; oversee shift management to guarantee smooth transitions during operating hours. Implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost retail sales and customer engagement. Utilize POS systems effectively for sales transactions; monitor retail math for pricing accuracy and sales performance analysis. Supervise customer service standards by addressing escalated issues promptly and ensuring a welcoming shopping environment. Oversee operational management tasks such as scheduling staff shifts, managing store cleanliness, and ensuring proper merchandising displays. Foster strong communication within the team through managerial communication skills; promote organizational skills for efficient workflow. Experience Proven management experience in retail environments such as convenience stores, grocery stores or gas stations with supervisory responsibilities. Demonstrated success in retail sales team management with a focus on customer service excellence. Experience with inventory management systems (POS systems), purchasing procedures, and cash handling processes. Strong background in employee recruitment, training & development programs; familiarity with employee orientation practices. Knowledge of retail industry sales strategies including pricing tactics, merchandising techniques, marketing initiatives & promotional planning. Skilled in budgeting, bookkeeping, payroll processing & basic math applications relevant to retail operations. Excellent communication skills with multilingual or bilingual abilities considered an asset for diverse customer bases. Ability to lead teams effectively through supervising experience; adept at time management and organizational skills necessary for shift management.
