Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and professional Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to provide safe and timely transportation services for clients requiring medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other essential travel needs. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, strong customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle. This role offers an opportunity to serve the community by ensuring clients reach their destinations comfortably and on schedule. Duties Safely operate various types of vehicles including vans, shuttle buses, or limousines to transport clients to medical appointments and other destinations. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous and professional customer service at all times. Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and fueled before each shift; perform basic vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure passenger safety. Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and passenger details as required by company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and healthcare providers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns or special needs. Assist passengers with heavy lifting or mobility aids as needed while ensuring safety procedures are followed. Experience Prior shuttle driving or delivery driver experience is preferred. Experience operating buses, limousines, or commercial vehicles such as paratransit or school buses is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with clients and team members. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues early. Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage. Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL preferred). Proven record of safe driving with a clean driving history; experience in passenger transportation is a plus. This position requires a dedicated individual committed to providing excellent customer service while ensuring passenger safety and comfort during every trip.
