Job Description

Onsite DOT Delivery Driver Position Profile The Onsite DOT Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery, pickup, and relocation of customer packages and mail in accordance with customer requirements. This position requires full compliance with federal DOT regulations and adherence to all Delivery Safety Standards . Job Duties & Responsibilities Ensure proper receiving, sorting, and PO processing. Load and secure packages and mail safely in the boxed van/truck. Pick up mail and packages from designated customer pickup areas. Deliver mail and packages to the correct delivery points. Maintain logbooks (electronic or manual) in accordance with DOT regulations . Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and DOT compliance. Participate in required Safety Programs. Pre‑call customers when applicable. Demonstrate strong customer service skills. Identify customer needs and take appropriate action or refer to the correct contact. Maintain professional appearance per site dress code. Ensure all paperwork is signed and processed accurately. Load/off‑load trucks as needed. Follow all accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures. Meet productivity and quality standards as outlined by management. Operate warehouse equipment including forklift, stair climber, and pallet jack (as required). Lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs . Assist with training of new delivery drivers on current routes. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications (Education, Experience & Certifications)
Required:
Safe driving record and history. Eligible to operate a commercial vehicle per FMCSR regulations . Valid driver's license as required by company policy. Ability to pass a road test. Valid and current medical card.
Minimum age:
20 years , with proper state licensing. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid commercial driver's license (if required by state). Ability to read maps and use electronic GPS systems. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to physically handle oversized and overweight packages. Ability to identify at‑risk behaviors and make quick corrective decisions. Strong customer communication and presentation skills. Comfortable using smartphones/tablets and handheld electronic technologies. Adequate reading, math, and legible writing skills. Ability to obtain certification for warehouse equipment (forklift, stair climber, etc.) if required. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Risk of serious injury if proper lifting, moving procedures, or road safety rules are not followed. Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling to service equipment at floor level. Physical effort required for lifting packages weighing up to 50 lbs . Work assignments may involve interpreting and applying complex information and conveying data clearly. Work occurs in varied environments—office, warehouse, and van/truck—with normal lighting, ventilation, and temperature/noise ranges. Ability to work independently.
