This position is hands-on and is designed for someone who wants to grow into a leadership role. The Lead Moving Specialist will begin by learning and performing all aspects of professional moving, with the opportunity to advance into the person responsible for driving the moving truck, strategically stacking and securing the load, leading the moving crew, and overseeing day-to-day job operations. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, communicates well, can work efficiently under pressure, and is willing to take responsibility for the success of each move. Qualifications Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Previous moving experience is preferred but not required Ability and willingness to learn how to safely operate a moving truck Strong work ethic and reliable attendance Professional and positive attitude Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work well independently and as part of a team Ability to take direction and eventually provide direction to other team members Strong attention to detail and care when handling customers' belongings Ability to problem-solve and make good decisions on the job Physically able to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy furniture and boxes Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment and varying weather conditions Leadership experience is a plus Experience driving box trucks or larger vehicles is a plus Duties Safely load, unload, and transport customers' belongings Wrap and protect furniture, floors, walls, doors, and other property Properly lift, carry, and maneuver furniture and heavy items Strategically stack and organize the moving truck to maximize space and protect belongings Secure the truck load properly before transportation Drive company moving trucks safely and responsibly Lead and direct the moving crew during jobs Delegate tasks and keep the crew organized and productive Communicate professionally with customers throughout the moving process Help ensure each move is completed efficiently and to company standards Identify and resolve problems that arise during a move Help train newer moving specialists on proper moving techniques and company procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe truck Perform vehicle and equipment checks as needed Complete required job paperwork and documentation Represent the company professionally at every job Take ownership of the overall quality and success of each move
