• Weekday daytime, Monday-Thursday Home Hands of Rochester helps older adults and families through some of the biggest transitions of their lives, from a move into senior living to settling a loved one's home after they've passed.

We're an independent, locally owned senior downsizing and estate transitions company, and we're hiring two per diem Clear-Out & Heavy Lift Crew Members for the physical side of that work: getting furniture and household items out of a home, and getting heavy pieces exactly where a client wants them. What the work is Carry furniture, boxes, and household items out of homes, basements, and garages, including down stairs, and load them into a dumpster. Load tight and safe so no space is wasted. Rearrange heavy furniture inside a client's home, putting each piece exactly where they want it.

Work smart and careful:

protect floors, walls, and the client's belongings as you go. Follow the plan for each job: what stays, what goes, and where it goes. Treat every home with respect. Many of our clients have lived there for years. What you won't do Drive for work. You just need to get yourself to the job site. Demolition, construction, or hazardous materials. The practical details $26/hour, paid weekly, every Friday, by direct deposit. You're a W-2 employee, not a contractor. Per diem means we schedule you shift by shift. Shifts are daytime, Monday through Thursday, and you must be available all four days. Occasional Fridays. Expect 12 or more hours most weeks. Job sites are homes across Greater Rochester, mostly in Monroe County.

We provide gloves and equipment:

dollies, straps, and blankets. Bring sturdy closed-toe work boots. You'll do well here if you Can lift and carry 75 pounds repeatedly, including on stairs, and team-lift anything heavier. Have two or more years of experience working for a licensed moving company (preferred, not required). Work steady and careful. Speed matters, but a scratched floor or a cracked doorframe costs more than it saves. Show up when you say you will. Per diem only works if we can count on you. Are available every Monday through Thursday during the day. Have reliable transportation to job sites and a smartphone for scheduling. Are 18 or older.
