Job Summary Lucky Bikes is seeking biking enthusiasts with conformt, experience and a passion for working with youth to serve as seasonal, part time instructors for the rides and bike maintenance clinics. Lucky Bikes is a nonprofit aimed at providing access to bicycles and mountain biking experiences to at-risk and underserved youth throughout the Denver Metro area. Responsibilities include preparing all needed equipment, ensuring that protocols are being followed by youth and volunteers, providing a safe and supportive environment for each individual, leading rides and upholding the values and mission of Lucky Bikes. A Ride typically consists of preparing for the ride, leading the ride, doing necessary cleanup, proper transportation, and storage of bikes. Clinics and classes are usually spread out over a week with some hours every day teaching basic mechanic skills and riding techniques. Duties Serve as assistant on Lucky Bikes rides. Assist with ride logistics (transportation, equipment, safety) Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and protocols Prepare all equipment and ensure that everything is in working order Review safety check for all rides Ensure safe riding skills are being implemented on all rides Practice proper trail etiquette Oversight and direction of volunteers Skills Strong bike riding skills and enthusiasm for riding Experience, comfort and passion working with youth ages 10-23 years of age. Skill in verbal communication, appropriate to engage groups of youth Willingness to learn how to plan and implement Lucky Bikessafety and educational activities Experience working with youth; experience working with at-risk and underserved youth preferred Ability to formulate flexible strategies and action plans Experience handling multiple tasks, and responding to crisis situations with a professional and level-headed approach. Ability to foster a productive work team and environment Ability to work independently and intuitively, and with others as circumstances require Ability to make individual judgment calls about safety and risk management with students, agency staff and volunteers Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality Understanding of and ability to work within existing office and administrative operations. Comfort driving van/truck on city streets, highways and mountain driving. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Must be able to pass a criminal background check Spanish speaking a plus, but not required Teaching/education experience preferred Demonstrated ability to create a culture that values and respects diversity, inclusion and teamwork Strong organizational and leadership skills and attention to detail

Pay:

$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 30.0 per week
