Job Description

BIG BROTHER / MENTOR POSITION - LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT FIT

We are looking for a reliable, responsible, energetic, and caring male to become a positive "big brother" figure in a young boy's life. This is much more than a babysitting or transportation job . We are looking for someone who can build a genuine relationship with him — someone who can be a mentor, coach, friend, role model, and big brother all in one. The right person should genuinely enjoy spending time with kids, being active, playing sports, having fun, and creating a positive environment where a child feels supported, encouraged, and cared for. What You'll Be Doing The main responsibility will be helping with school transportation , including: Picking him up and dropping him off at school and/or scheduled activities. Making sure he gets to and from his activities safely and on time. Helping maintain a consistent and reliable routine. However, transportation is only one part of the position. We are looking for someone who will actively engage with him rather than simply drive him around or supervise him. Some responsibilities and activities may include: Playing sports together — basketball, soccer, football, baseball, tennis, etc. Exposure to different social activites. Going outside and staying active. Collaborate with family, school and healthcare support. Going to the park, gym, or other age-appropriate activities. Playing games and doing fun activities together. Encouraging him to try new things. Helping him stay active rather than spending all his free time on electronics. Being someone he can talk to and feel comfortable around. Encouraging good habits, confidence, responsibility, and sportsmanship. Helping him navigate everyday challenges in a positive way. Being a positive male role model. Having fun, laughing, joking, and creating good memories together. What We're Looking For The most important thing is personality and character . We are looking for someone who is: Patient and kind Dependable and punctual Responsible and trustworthy Energetic and active Good with children Comfortable being a mentor and role model Positive and encouraging Fun and easygoing Able to set appropriate boundaries Someone who enjoys sports and outdoor activities Someone who can genuinely connect with a child A safe and responsible driver Someone who understands that consistency and trust are extremely important You don't need to be a professional coach or have a degree in childcare. What matters most is that you are a good person, responsible, mature, and genuinely interested in making a positive impact on a child's life. We want to emphasize that this is not simply a "pick-up and drop-off" position . We are looking for someone who can develop a real bond with him over time. Think of the role as being a big brother/mentor — someone who can encourage him, challenge him, teach him things, play with him, listen to him, and simply be there for him. Someone who can keep him engaged, active, and having fun while also being a positive influence. At the same time, we understand that being a mentor means knowing when to have fun and when to provide guidance, structure, and encouragement. Schedule & Responsibilities The schedule will primarily revolve around school pick-up/drop-off and after-school time , with additional time spent participating in activities together. Flexibility is a plus, as there may be occasional changes depending on school, sports, activities, or family needs. A clean driving record and reliable transportation are required. There is also the option to drive the principal's vehicles as well. Will need to pass state and federal background check.

•Gas, mileage and wear/tear will be compensated. We are not looking for someone simply because they need a job. We are looking for someone who is excited about the opportunity to make a difference in a child's life . The right person will become someone he looks forward to seeing — someone he trusts, respects, and enjoys spending time with. If you are responsible, active, positive, caring, and think you could be a great big brother, mentor, coach, and friend , we would love to hear from you. Please send a brief introduction about yourself, a resume, your experience working with children and why you feel you would be a good fit for this position to: meyerfamily.assistant@gmail.com
