Responsibilities Safely operate various passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttles, and personal vehicles to transport clients on local routes. Follow all traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and company policies to ensure safety at all times. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing friendly and professional customer service. Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure optimal operation and safety standards. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pick-up times, routes, and any delays or changes in schedule. Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking fluid levels, brakes, lights, and tires. Manage documentation related to trips, mileage logs, and incident reports accurately and promptly. Requirements Prior experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, shuttle driver or chauffeur is highly preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating passenger vans or medical transportation vehicles is a plus. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling luggage or mobility devices. Knowledge of local driving routes along with adherence to traffic regulations and safety standards. Strong communication skills for client interaction and coordination with dispatch teams. Experience with vehicle maintenance basics and performing routine safety checks. Prior experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is advantageous but not required.
