  • Overview:

Transdev's Autonomous Specialist's are critical to the success of delivering safe autonomous driving systems to our customers, enabling a revolutionary mobility experience._ _The Autonomous Specialist is responsible for operating and evaluating a self-driving vehicle in autonomous mode, including collecting data and providing feedback, and offering ride hail service to the general public._ Benefits may vary depending on location policy. The below represents the standard Corporate Policy. Competitive compensation package of minimum $24.00 - Maximum $26.00 Benefits include:

    • Key Responsibilities:
    • + _Maintain Transdev's high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle;_ + _Consistently demonstrate situational awareness, an understanding of the technology in his/her care, and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment;_ + _Be the deputy for technology by communicating courteously always with management, engineers, and the public;_ + _Capable of responding quickly to changing and potentially high-pressure environments;_ + _Work mostly individually but also in small groups of 2-10 people;_ + _Operate a vehicle 6-8 hours a day, up to 5 days a week;_ + _Follow established diagnostic guides to troubleshoot driver support modules; not limited to, but including mobile devices, laptops, and other work devices_ + _Provide rides in the autonomous vehicle to the general public.
    _ + _Monitor multiple software systems with constant focus;_ + _Provide concise, clear, and accurate verbal and written feedback regarding the vehicle's operations;_ + _Responsible for managing the vehicle's key security process_ + _Complete daily reports and document procedures and tests._ + _Interact with the members of the public in a polite and professional manner, and assist in educating them on self-driving technology when necessary_ + _Operate autonomous vehicles on both defined and undefined routes, including a variety of environmental conditions._ + _Operate onboard data collection systems_ + _Comfortable riding as a passenger in an autonomous vehicle, where the driver may have little control over the vehicle's operations._ + _Safely operates a non-autonomous vehicle while monitoring the location of a driverless vehicle(s) during vehicle recovery operations_ + _Responsible for the safe recovery of the autonomous vehicle which includes but is not limited to parking safely behind the driverless vehicle, setting up protection, disengaging the self-driving car and driving the car to a safe location._ + _Apply safety procedures to any situation involving rescue of the self-driving car._ + _Oversee and ensure the security and importing of disks including accounting of at the beginning and end of shift, and ensuring there is the proper amount of disks needed throughout the day_ + _Will assist as a POC for client Security and Facilities staff for issues and repairs at remote site(s)_ + _Exercise excellent customer service while assisting passengers of the driverless vehicle to disembark, board the rescue vehicle and safely drive passengers to their destination._ + _Assist software progress by testing new features;_ + _Document recurring issues of new software and any potential bugs;_ + _Follow weekly release emails and bug reports to stay up to date;_ + _Work closely with Operations Supervisor to keep demo documentation accurate and up to date (i.e. create/maintain demo routes and best practices, daily and weekly emails)_ + _Represent Client by showcasing self-driving technology to Client's guests in a friendly, concise manner while_ + _Must be able to work assigned shift_ + All other duties as assigned
    • Required Education and Experience:
    • + _Minimum of 3 years of experience driving on public roads. Additional experience is preferred;_ + _High School Diploma or GED required. Four-year college degree (preferred) in a related field like industrial or applied sciences;_
    • Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
    • + _Ability to parallel park with minimal assistance.
    _ + _Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.e. Gmail, Hangouts, and Driver, including Sheets and Docs);_ + _Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred by not required); and_ + _Must be able to type at least 40 adjusted wpm._ + _Must have good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts;_ + _Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios;_ + _Adapt quickly to new and developing technology;_ + _Cross-functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation;_ + _Must be able to multitask multiple technologies, including communications devices and vehicle status systems;_ + _Must be able to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, overnights and/or weekends, as well as travel for up to one month; occasionally may be required to work overtime and be recalled for peak operational demand._ + _Must be able to perform your shift from a compact crossover vehicle; periodically exposed to the elements and outdoors_ + _Travel up to 20% of the time_ + _Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and_ + _Must be self-motivated and demonstrate good judgment, in fast-paced, high stress environments._
    • Physical Requirements:
    • + •_Routine and repetitive standing, walking, and long periods of sitting.

    • + •_Use of extremities to include hands/fingers/grip and; handle or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders.

    _ + _Must use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus._ + _Most work is accomplished outdoors or in a vehicle._ + _Work may require exposure to inclement weather and or extreme environments_ + _May need to operate alternative modes of transportation such as a bicycle or scooter_

    • + _Must be 21 years old;_ + _Does not have more than 1 point on the driving record (California), or one non-major moving violation in the preceding three years;_ + _Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.

Gmail, Hangouts, and Driver, including Sheets and Docs_ + _Has not had any driver's license suspension or revocation based on driving or operating any_ _vehicle under the influence of alcohol or any drug in the past 10 years;_ + _Never been the at-fault driver of a motor vehicle involved in an accident that resulted in_ _injury or death of any person._ + _Must have and maintain a driving record that meets state AVT (Autonomous Vehicle Tester) and/or other applicable regulations and laws; and_ + _Meets driver requirements, including driving record and criminal history under applicable regulations and laws in the state(s) in which the autonomous vehicle monitor will be working;_ + _All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Safety Sensitive Positions will also be subject to a physical screening_ + _Transdev reserves the right to perform ongoing background checks for all employees except in states where this is prohibited by state law. Transdev will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements._ + _Employees must maintain an acceptable Driving Record suitable to being approved to drive as part of their regular duties.
