Full Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and dismantle hydraulic strand jack systems for heavy lift and transport projects.
- Interpret engineered lift plans, rigging drawings, lift procedures, and load calculations.
- Install and inspect strand bundles, lifting frames, anchorage systems, hydraulic components, and control equipment.
- Monitor load movement, strand tensions, jack pressures, and lifting sequences throughout operations.
- Coordinate lifting activities with crane operators, riggers, transport teams, signal persons, and project supervision.
- Perform synchronized lifting, lowering, load transfer, and positioning operations.
- Assist with bridge erection, module installation, shipyard projects, industrial turnarounds, and heavy transport load-outs.
- Conduct pre-use inspections of strand jacks, hydraulic power units, hoses, fittings, controls, and associated lifting equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and control system issues.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, lift logs, and equipment documentation.
- Participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs), lift planning meetings, and daily safety briefings.
- Assist with equipment mobilization, demobilization, maintenance, and inventory control.
- Ensure all operations comply with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy lift, rigging, crane operations, specialized transport, or hydraulic lifting systems preferred.
- Experience operating strand jack systems or similar hydraulic lifting equipment.
- Ability to read and understand lift drawings, engineering plans, and rigging schematics.
- Strong understanding of load control, rigging fundamentals, and lifting safety practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, supervision, and engineering teams.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to travel extensively and work rotational schedules as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with synchronized lifting and computerized strand jack control systems.
- NCCCO Rigger Certification.
- NCCCO Signalperson Certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- TWIC Card.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Experience working in refineries, petrochemical plants, power generation facilities, marine environments, and infrastructure projects.
- Experience with skidding systems, hydraulic gantries, stand jacks, SPMTs, and heavy transport operations.
