Job Description
Purpose Statement The job of Delivery Driver - Warehouse is done for the purpose/s of assisting in maintaining warehouse operations including loading and unloading orders, stocking inventory; ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct; verifying stock and identifying losses; maintaining warehouse layout; transporting orders over designated and on-demand routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles. This job reports to the Director of Purchasing. Essential Functions Drives vehicles (e.g. trucks and vans) for the purpose of transporting orders and materials as required to various locations. Receives purchased supplies and equipment to ensure the correct specifications, quantity, and quality of orders, and to inspect for damage. Pulls requisitioned warehouse stock orders for delivery to requesting locations Participates in physical warehouse stock inventories to verify stock and identify losses. Maintains various files and records (e.g., inventory, purchase orders, schedules, requisitions) to document activities and provide reliable resource information. Processes report requests, documents, mail, deliveries, and/or materials to disseminate information and/or materials to appropriate parties. Loads and unloads delivery vehicles to transport a variety of items (e.g., records/files, supplies, equipment, materials, bank deposits, mail, etc.) to or between various locations, as required. Sorts and delivers mail to meet daily delivery requirements. Operates an automatic postage meter to ensure the correct postage is used for outgoing mail. Stocks equipment and supplies for the postage machine to maintain required inventory levels. Maintains an activity log, including appropriate authorization signatures, to document materials received and delivered. Responds to inquiries from staff to provide information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries. Is responsible for ensuring proper vehicle maintenance (e.g., keeping vehicles fueled, clean, and scheduling preventive maintenance) to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle. Assists in District warehouse activities and processes, as required, to maintain warehouse operations. Other Functions Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
