ABOUT FED MED
Fed Med Inc. is a Northern California-based Medical logistics & Mobility company specializing in last-mile delivery of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Home Medical Equipment (HME), Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT), and medical equipment warehousing. We follow strict HIPAA protocols, partnering with hospitals, home health agencies, and national DME suppliers to ensure patients receive their equipment safely, on time, and with white-glove service.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused DME Delivery Technician to join our growing team immediately. This role combines hands-on technical work with delivery responsibilities, ensuring patients and healthcare facilities receive exceptional service and support. You will be responsible for delivering medical equipment, setting it up at customer locations, and providing basic troubleshooting and patient education. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who own a qualifying cargo van and want steady W-2 employment with benefits and other perks.
SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
Shift-based scheduling (days and routes assigned weekly). On-call rotation approximately once per month. Full-time and part-time positions available. Must be available for early morning or evening deliveries as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely deliver DME/HME and medical supplies to patient homes, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and healthcare clinics across Northern California. Install and set up equipment (hospital beds, wheelchairs, CPAP machines, oxygen equipment, etc.) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company standards. Perform basic field troubleshooting, maintenance, and equipment swaps. Educate patients and caregivers on the proper use, care, and safety of delivered equipment. Maintain accurate delivery logs, proof-of-delivery documentation, and service records using company dispatch software. Handle equipment pickups, returns, and warehouse restocking as assigned. Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations, safety protocols, and company SOPs at all times. Provide professional, empathetic, white-glove customer service — you are the face of Fed Med in the field. Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route status, delays, or patient concerns.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base Pay:
$23.00 per hour Benefits include: Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off (PTO) Gas reimbursement for delivery routes (If you provide your own Van).
VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
Fed Med strongly prefers candidates who own or have access to a qualifying cargo or passenger van. Qualifying vehicles include, but are not limited to: Ford Transit (Cargo) Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (Cargo) Ram ProMaster (Cargo) Chevrolet Express (Cargo) Nissan NV (Cargo) Vehicles must be in good mechanical condition, clean, and presentable for patient-facing service. Fed Med reserves the right to inspect vehicles for safety and professional appearance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI, no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years). Ability to regularly lift and move medical equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to interact directly with patients, caregivers, and clinical staff. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow GPS-routed delivery schedules. Must pass a comprehensive background check, reference checks, pre-employment drug screening, and TB test. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Prior experience in DME delivery, medical equipment service, home health logistics, or field service. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements. DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (or willingness to obtain). Ownership of a qualifying cargo van (see Vehicle Requirements above). Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus. Experience with dispatch or route management software.
