Job Description

Are You a High-Performing Cargo Van Delivery Driver? Do you currently deliver packages to homes in a dark blue cargo van? Do you run high-volume routes, handle hundreds of packages per day, maintain excellent scanner discipline, properly code deliveries and exceptions, stay organized, drive safely, and consistently finish your route efficiently? And after doing all of that, are you still paid essentially the same hourly wage whether you're an average driver or one of the best drivers on the team? There is another way to do this job. Gill Heritage Logistics is a FedEx Ground Pickup & Delivery contractor operating out of Hayward, California, and we pay for performance. We are looking for experienced cargo-van delivery drivers who already understand last-mile residential delivery and want the opportunity to turn those skills into a higher-earning professional driving career. Start With What You Know. Then Move Up. You don't need to jump directly from a cargo van into a large commercial step van. Qualified drivers can begin with us in a cargo van—the type of vehicle you're already comfortable operating—and we will train you to safely operate larger FedEx Ground commercial step vans over time. Your progression can look like this: Cargo Van Driver → Step Van Driver → Senior Step Van Driver FedEx Ground delivery is significantly more demanding than most last mile delivery operations. Packages can be substantially heavier, vehicles are considerably larger, and successfully maneuvering a commercial step van through dense residential neighborhoods, narrow streets, driveways, parking areas, and traffic requires a leveled up skill set. We don't expect you to know all of that on Day One. We will teach you. What we're looking for is someone who already has the fundamentals: safe driving, good delivery habits, organization, urgency, scanner discipline, and the ability to efficiently manage a high-volume route. We Pay for Performance At Gill Heritage Logistics, high performance matters. Our compensation structure rewards productive, efficient route execution rather than treating every driver exactly the same regardless of performance. An experienced, highly productive commercial step-van driver can earn compensation that, on certain routes and volume levels, is equivalent to $40 per hour or more for the hours actually worked.

• That level of earnings is not automatic or guaranteed. It comes from excellent route execution, strong productivity, accurate delivery behavior, safe driving, dependable attendance, and the ability to handle substantial stop and package volume. If you're already one of the strongest drivers on your current delivery team, we want to give you an opportunity to be compensated like one. More Than Just Competitive Pay We believe a good driver position should provide more than a paycheck. Gill Heritage Logistics employees have access to a benefits package that includes: Medical coverage options Dental coverage options Vision coverage options Voluntary supplemental insurance benefits options Company-paid life insurance Company-paid accident insurance Telemedicine services provided at no cost to employees Employee discount benefits provided at no cost Hearing-health screening benefits provided at no cost Our goal is to provide drivers with both strong earning potential and meaningful benefits as they build a long-term position with the company. We're Especially Interested in

Drivers Who:

Already have professional last-mile delivery experience Routinely handle high-volume residential routes Understand scanner discipline and accurate delivery coding Stay organized throughout the route Work with urgency without sacrificing safety Maintain strong attendance and reliability Can efficiently manage large numbers of stops and packages Want their compensation to reflect their productivity Want to learn to operate larger commercial delivery vehicles Are interested in progressing beyond an entry-level cargo-van position Build a Career, Not Just Another Delivery Job If you're already good at delivering packages, we're not asking you to start over. We're offering you the opportunity to take the skills you already have, learn to operate larger commercial vehicles, handle more demanding routes, increase your earning potential, and progress into a senior driving position. If you believe your performance should matter when your paycheck is calculated, we'd like to talk to you. Apply and tell us about your delivery experience, the type of vehicle you currently drive, and the approximate stop and package volume you're accustomed to handling.

•Performance-based earnings vary based on route assignment, delivery volume, packages and stops handled, actual hours worked, productivity, safety, attendance, and other applicable compensation-plan requirements. Examples of effective hourly earnings are illustrative and are not a guarantee of any particular daily, weekly, or hourly earnings, though they are taken from actual examples of GHL employees.
