Job Description

Overview Most people will never sit in a Lamborghini. You could be driving one on Tuesday, a Rolls-Royce on Friday, and a McLaren the week after that. Prometheus Exotics moves luxury and exotic vehicles across Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Inland Empire. Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, Bentley, Mercedes-AMG and Maybach, BMW, and whatever else is on the floor that week. We are building a small bench of local drivers we can call when a car needs to be somewhere. Be clear on what this is. It is not a full-time job and it is not built to replace one. It is a rare seat. Paid time behind the wheel of cars almost nobody gets keys to, on your own terms, alongside whatever else you already do. There are very few doors into this world. This is one of them. How It Works... Independent contractor, 1099. You are paid $100 per completed delivery and $100 per completed collection. Approval puts you on our on-call porter roster. It is a roster, not a schedule, and it does not come with a guaranteed number of runs. How often you get called depends on bookings and on how you handle the runs you take. Most bookings create two runs on separate dates (the car goes out, the car comes back), so one booking can be two paydays. On-call and low commitment. We often learn a car needs to move with very little notice. When a run comes up you get a text with the pickup, the drop, and the window. Take it or pass, no penalty either way. You are never stranded and never out of pocket on the return. Runs are usually paired with a second driver, and when they are not, your ride back is covered by us. No set hours, no minimums, no clocking in for a shift. Volume rises and falls with bookings, and the drivers who are reliable early get called first as it grows. What a Run Looks Like... Inspect and photograph the vehicle before you move it. Drive it to the client, whether that is a home, a hotel, a venue, or a shop. At the end of the rental you go back and collect it. Photograph it again at handoff and again on collection. The photo record is what protects you and us. Clock in and clock out on every run. A run with no clock-out and no clock-in is not finished. Present well. For the ten minutes that matter most, you are the company. Someone is handing you a $300,000 car, and you should look and act like the person worth handing it to. What Is Not On You... You do not sell. Questions about price, extra days, or a different car go straight to the Fleet Manager. You are not expected to have those answers. You do not change the plan. A new drop spot, an extra driver, an early release, all of it goes through the Fleet Manager first. Your job is the car and the record, nothing heavier. Requirements
  • You live in or near Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Tustin, Santa Ana, or a surrounding Orange County city. Local is the entire point of the role.
  • Valid driver's license, your own vehicle, and your own current auto insurance.
  • Clean driving record.
  • A phone you actually answer. Speed is most of the value here.
  • You must clear our driver verification in writing before your first run. No trip, no favor, not across the lot, until that is done.
  • 25 or older preferred. Under 25 will be considered with strong, verifiable experience. Preferred, not required
  • Valet experience, especially high-line, hotel, or resort valet.
  • Experience driving exotics, supercars, or lowered vehicles. If you already know how to take a steep driveway at an angle, say so.
  • Comfortable in a manual transmission.
  • Dealership, transport, detailing, or fleet background.
Where it goes... Porter is the entry point, not the ceiling. The people who prove reliable move up into Fleet Assistant, Fleet Manager, and Exotic Rental Broker. Those seats pay on margin instead of per run, and we fill them from the inside first. Many people in this industry started by moving somebody else's car.
