Job Description
We are seeking an experienced CDL Class A Truck Driver for a regional delivery position based out of Harvard, IL . The driver will operate a tractor-trailer, day cab, or sleeper truck to deliver palletized hardware store products to True Value hardware stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. This is a Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM dispatch position offering consistent weekday work and competitive pay of $27.00 per hour . CDL-A Driver Responsibilities Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer with a dry van trailer Deliver palletized hardware store products to True Value locations Perform light touch freight using a manual pallet jack and/or liftgate Back tractor-trailers into tight delivery areas and confined spaces Safely maneuver commercial vehicles in residential, commercial, and retail areas Complete deliveries and maintain accurate delivery documentation Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and hours-of-service requirements Maintain safe operation of equipment and protect freight during transportation Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, deliveries, delays, and potential issues Route & Travel Area Drivers will operate throughout: Illinois Indiana Ohio Michigan Wisconsin Typical driving radius: Approximately 100-550 miles Possible layovers: Approximately 1 layover per week , depending on route and delivery requirements. Driver Requirements Valid CDL Class A license Tractor-trailer driving experience Ability to safely operate a day cab or sleeper tractor Experience with dry van equipment preferred Ability to safely back into tight spaces Ability to handle light touch freight Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and/or liftgate Strong safety record and dependable attendance Hazmat endorsement is a plus, but not required Ability to meet all applicable DOT and company driver qualifications Why This CDL-A Position? $27.00 per hour Monday-Friday schedule 5:00 AM dispatch Regional routes across the Midwest Day cab or sleeper equipment Automatic transmission Dry van freight Light touch freight Palletized deliveries Potential for approximately one layover per week Consistent True Value hardware store delivery routes
