Make Every Mile Matter. Looking for a part-time job that makes a real difference in your community? Join Tri-Valley's Nutrition Services team as a Meals on Wheels Driver in Franklin. As a Meals on Wheels Driver, you'll deliver much more than a balanced, nutritious meal. You'll provide a friendly smile, an important daily wellness check, and peace of mind for older adults and individuals with disabilities who rely on us to remain healthy, safe, and independent in the comfort of their own homes. Every route is an opportunity to brighten someone's day and be part of a compassionate team that believes in lasting impacts.
Basic Function:
Responsible for completing a Meals on Wheels delivery route and supporting related Nutrition Center operations. This is a part-time position averaging 15 hours every other week .
Responsibilities:
1. Count and pack food trays for home delivery. 2. Count and pack hot and cold food products into carriers. 3. Assist coordinator with wrapping bread, packaging desserts, etc. 4. Deliver meals to homebound participants and maintain record for daily route. 5. Maintain paperwork and report any emergencies or changes in participant status to the Nutrition Center Coordinator. 6. Clean meal delivery equipment daily. 7. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Must have valid driver's license, good driving record, and required insurance coverage. 2. Must have a motor vehicle. 3. Accurate record keeping skills. 4. Ability to work well with older adult consumers. 5. Ability to learn delivery routes and capable of training other drivers. 6. Capable of handling emergency protocols and able to maintain confidentiality. 7. Ability to climb/descend stairs and navigate potentially uneven terrain (walkways, driveways, etc.) 8.
