Full Job Description Job Description:
The CFR Driver will pick up empty coolers from our distribution site, drive to collect food from designated locations in town and deliver it back to our distribution site. Will unload and weigh coolers upon arrival. Written route instructions are provided.
Qualifications:
Reasonable physical fitness and ability to lift a 30- to 40-pound cooler is necessary. Drivers use their own vehicle that can accommodate 6 - 8 coolers. They must have a current driver's license and must have their own auto insurance (although CFR does have liability insurance for drivers when on routes directed by CFR). Safe driving record will be required.
Equipment/Dress:
The Driver will use their own vehicle. The driver should dress in clothing and shoes that are comfortable and appropriate for the weather. No special equipment is needed. CFR supplies coolers.
Orientation:
Orientation to CFR driving program will be directed by the Lead Coordinator and one or more of our experienced drivers. New drivers will ride along on routes before they are scheduled. CFR will need a copy of auto insurance and license on record.
Hours:
Monday and Wednesday and Friday, 8 am to 11:30 am. Extra hours may be requested on a last-minute basis. You will be expected to help out to cover someone else's route if they are ill or away.
Compensation:
This is an hourly wage job, $20.00 per hour, paid monthly. Mileage will be paid Federal rate per mile. The driver will maintain their hours and mileage records and submit to our payroll accountant at end of each month. If you have need of a Friday off during the winter months, we can discuss in advance.
