Job Summary Join our team as a Substitute/Part-Time Contract Mail Deliver Driver and become a vital link in ensuring timely and reliable mail and package delivery. You will be responsible for safely transporting mail, parcels, and small freight, while providing excellent customer service along the way. Responsibilities Safely operate different types of delivery vehicles such as box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles to transport mail and packages across designated routes Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques and material handling, adhering to safe lifting practices Follow route schedules precisely, ensuring timely deliveries while complying with traffic regulations Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure safety and proper functioning of all equipment Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or other digital tools, documenting all deliveries and pickups clearly Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns Adhere to warehouse operations procedures when handling incoming or outgoing shipments in addition to delivery tasks Skills Prior experience in delivery driving or courier roles with a focus on route driving and customer interaction Knowledge of commercial driving regulations, safe operation of box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles with manual transmissions where applicable Ability to lift heavy loads safely while following manual handling best practices for heavy lifting and moving tasks Strong driving skills with adherence to traffic laws and safety protocols at all times Proficiency in using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery updates, and record keeping This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team committed to efficient mail delivery while maintaining high safety standards.
