Responsible for delivering medical oxygen and related equipment to customers by preparing, loading, unloading, operating and maintaining orderly records according to company procedures.
Job Duties:
Prepare truck for operation by inspecting general condition according to company guidelines. Reports any necessary repairs needed to Supervisor. Loads truck by ordering, placing and securing items. Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule. Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints; adjusting orders. Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventative maintenance requirements. Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans trucks interior. Maintains delivery, truck and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance forms. Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities. All paperwork related to deliveries is complete, organized, accurate, and submitted to the manager on duty after every run of deliveries. All scanning is completed daily according to instructions. All customer inquiries or complaints are promptly reported in writing or verbally to the designated manager. All deliveries are made adhering strictly to the traffic laws and regulations as established by the state and/or DOT. Always wear seat belts and phone headsets. Be familiar with the required maintenance and care of the delivery vehicle, as well as relay possible problems or observations regarding the need for vehicle maintenance. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle before beginning the route and at the conclusion of each day's route. Ensure each truck meets the company standard of cleanliness. Upon pick up, all equipment is properly tagged as to function (broken, malfunction, routine pick up), field cleaned, and returned to TGP. Always ensure that the equipment that will be delivered has been serviced, cleaned, and is ready for patient use. Understand and follow CHAP/Accreditation requirements. Follow all FDA, OSHA, DOT, CHAP, and State rules and federal regulations as they apply to TGP. Assist other staff members as needed. Other duties, as necessary or directed by Operations Manager, Regional, Branch Manager, or his/her designee. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Maintains the Company's professional reputation to customers, the public, and company employees. Requirements Must have excellent communication skills in a customer driven environment, dependable, professional and work independently. Able to be flexible with hours of operation and the willingness to work overtime and on call hours as scheduled. Oxygen and related equipment delivery experience preferred but willing to train the right individual. Ability to pass pre-employment drug and background check and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing as required by DOT / law. Qualifications A minimum of high school diploma or related experience required. Must be able to perform basic mathematics and map reading. Good command of the English language and neat handwriting. Good personal hygiene and appearance. Must be personable, courteous, professional, and co-operative and have time management skills with the ability to problem solve. Lifting at least 50 pounds from a squatting position required.
