- Job Description
- This role focuses on safely delivering food items throughout New York City while providing excellent customer service. You load and unload a delivery van, manage inventory using a scan gun, and complete assigned routes efficiently. The position involves regular lifting, bending, and kneeling, and requires reliability, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Responsibilities
- + Load and unload the delivery van with food items at the production facility and delivery locations.
+ Make timely deliveries throughout New York City, following assigned routes across the five boroughs.
+ Provide courteous, professional, and customer-oriented service at every delivery stop.
+ Operate a scan gun to track inventory and ensure accurate documentation of delivered and received items.
+ Keep track of inventory on the vehicle and report discrepancies or issues promptly.
+ Handle heavy lifting and perform physical tasks such as bending and kneeling throughout the workday.
+ Drive safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company guidelines.
+ Follow route delivery plans and adjust as needed to complete all scheduled stops.
+ Support loading and unloading of trucks and assist with transport and pick-up tasks as required.
+ Arrive on time each workday and maintain consistent punctuality for shift start and route completion.
+ Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
+ Maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and care for equipment such as scan guns and loading tools.
- Essential Skills
- + At least 2 years of delivery driving experience.
+ Proven experience making deliveries, ideally in a route delivery environment.
+ Ability to perform heavy lifting and frequent physical tasks such as loading, unloading, bending, and kneeling.
+ Strong driver management and driving skills with a focus on safety and reliability.
+ Great communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
+ Consistent punctuality and reliability, arriving on time for all scheduled shifts.
+ Comfort working with inventory, including tracking items and using a scan gun.
+ Customer service oriented mindset with a focus on positive interactions and problem solving.
+ Comfort with loading and unloading trucks and working in a transport and retail-oriented environment.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Food delivery experience is a plus. + Familiarity with the five boroughs of New York City is a plus. + Respectful attitude and excellent interpersonal communication skills. + No formal education requirement. + Experience in customer service, retail, or transport environments is beneficial. + Ability to work route delivery schedules and adapt to changing daily needs.

- Work Environment
- This position is based at a production and distribution facility in Brooklyn, NY, serving grocery and produce customers in both food service and direct-to-consumer markets.
The team is small and collaborative, with a growing group of delivery drivers. You work primarily on the road throughout New York City, using a delivery van and scan gun to complete routes. Typical hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or until routes are completed, Monday through Saturday, with the option of four-day workweeks. The environment is active and physically demanding, involving frequent loading and unloading of trucks and handling of food items. Dress code is comfortable and practical, such as jeans and a solid-color shirt, suitable for a hands-on delivery and warehouse setting.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $37440.
00 - $37440.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
