Overview:
The Delivery Specialist is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of products to retail locations throughout the assigned service area. This is a physically demanding role that requires regularly lifting and carrying product cases, operating a commercial delivery vehicle in all traffic and weather conditions, and representing Cirona Labs professionally at every stop. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, physically fit, and comfortable spending the majority of the workday driving and handling freight. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a commercial delivery vehicle (box truck/van) for multiple stops per day across the assigned route, following all traffic laws and company driving policies. Perform a documented pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection each shift, reporting any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns to the Distribution Supervisor immediately. Load, secure, and unload product cases and totes at the start and end of each route, ensuring freight is stacked and strapped to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Manually lift, carry, and move product cases repeatedly throughout the shift, typically ranging from 25-50 lbs, including up and down stairs, ramps, and uneven surfaces at delivery sites. Verify delivery manifests against physical product counts at pickup and at each drop-off, obtaining accurate signatures and documentation per Metrc/Canix chain-of-custody requirements. Communicate proactively with dispatch and the Distribution Supervisor regarding route delays, traffic, vehicle issues, or delivery exceptions. Use GPS/navigation tools and route software to plan efficient stop sequencing and provide accurate ETAs to retail partners. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure vehicle cab and cargo area at all times. Provide professional, courteous customer service at every retail stop, representing the Cirona Labs brand. Follow all OCM compliance, chain-of-custody, and security protocols for the transport of licensed cannabis products. Report any accidents, near-misses, damaged product, or safety hazards to a supervisor immediately. Cross Training in the picking department. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs, without assistance. Ability to repeatedly climb in and out of a commercial delivery vehicle throughout the shift. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods. Ability to safely navigate stairs, loading docks, and uneven terrain while carrying product. Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. Ability to work in varying weather conditions during loading, unloading, and deliveries. Qualifications Valid New York State driver's license (Class D or higher) with a clean driving record. Minimum 1-2 years of driving experience; commercial or delivery vehicle experience strongly preferred. Comfortable operating a box truck or cargo van in local traffic, tight streets, and parking/loading dock situations. No DUI/DWI convictions; no more than 2 minor moving violations or at-fault accidents in the past 3 years. Must be 21 years of age or older, per state cannabis regulations. Ability to pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and background check. Must be able to lift and move product consistent with the physical requirements above. Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Smartphone proficiency for navigation, dispatch communication, and delivery documentation apps. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior warehouse, logistics, or cannabis industry experience a plus.
