This position coordinates outgoing shipments, monitors deliveries, resolves shipping issues, maintains temperature-controlled shipping supplies, and completes local deliveries throughout Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities Prepare, package, and coordinate medication shipments in accordance with pharmacy procedures and applicable handling requirements. Ensure medications are delivered to patients and healthcare providers accurately and within expected timeframes. Monitor shipment progress and proactively identify potential delays or delivery issues. Troubleshoot lost, delayed, damaged, returned, or incorrectly delivered packages. Communicate delivery updates and concerns promptly to pharmacy staff, patients, providers, and shipping carriers, as appropriate. Complete local deliveries throughout Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, and surrounding areas. Follow established procedures for maintaining medication security, patient confidentiality, and proper chain of custody. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cold-shipping materials, including ice packs, insulated coolers, shipping containers, and related supplies. Prepare temperature-sensitive medications for shipment using appropriate cold-chain packaging procedures. Inspect shipping materials and delivery areas to ensure they remain clean, organized, and adequately stocked. Maintain accurate shipping, delivery, inventory, and issue-resolution records. Assist with receiving, organizing, and distributing incoming shipments as needed. Collaborate with pharmacy team members to prioritize urgent or time-sensitive deliveries. This role will also rotate into other areas of the pharmacy, including dispensing, as business needs arise. Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have active and in good standing Pharmacy Technician license with South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Previous experience in shipping, delivery, logistics, pharmacy, healthcare, or customer service preferred. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required. Must remain insurable under the company's automobile insurance requirements. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the local delivery area if use of a personal vehicle is required. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate professionally with patients, providers, coworkers, and delivery carriers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to work independently while managing multiple deliveries and shipping priorities. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn pharmacy and shipping software. Ability to protect confidential patient and company information. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move shipping materials for extended periods. Ability to load and unload packages, coolers, and other delivery supplies. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and complete deliveries in varying traffic and weather conditions. Work Environment This position works in a fast-paced pharmacy environment and regularly travels throughout Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, and surrounding areas. The role requires dependable attendance, flexibility, good judgment, and careful handling of medications and temperature-sensitive products. Schedule Work schedules are based on pharmacy operating hours, staffing needs, and business demands. Availability may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, opening or closing shifts, and additional hours as needed. The employee must be available to provide workflow coverage during meal periods, call-outs, and other staffing gaps. Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
