Why This Role Matters When Morris needs fly ash, the Redi-Mix operation needs a driver who can get it there safely, reliably, and on time. This specialized part-time driving position is responsible for making a dedicated Pierre-to-Rapid City round trip to pick up fly ash and return it to Morris, Inc. You'll operate a tractor and pneumatic bulk tanker, safely load and unload dry bulk material, complete required inspections and documentation, and take care of the equipment along the way. This is a great opportunity for an experienced CDL driver looking for part-time work without long-haul or overnight travel. You'll make one dedicated round trip per scheduled workday, typically taking approximately 6-7 hours, and return home the same day. Make one dedicated round trip per scheduled workday, transporting fly ash safely and efficiently. Follow assigned routes, schedules, and DOT/company safety requirements. Load & Unload Safely load and unload fly ash using the pneumatic tanker system. Verify the correct material and designated silo before loading or unloading. Properly connect and disconnect hoses and unloading equipment. Safety & Compliance Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Maintain required
CDL, DOT
documentation, and driver records. Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and Morris safety requirements. Documentation & Communication Complete required weight tickets, delivery documentation, and trip records. Maintain communication with Morris and the supplier regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, and equipment issues. Equipment Care Monitor the condition of the tractor and tanker and report maintenance needs promptly. Keep equipment clean and in good operating condition. What You'll Need Required Valid Class A CDL with required tanker endorsement. Current DOT medical certification. Acceptable driving record. Previous tractor-trailer driving experience. Ability to safely operate a pneumatic tanker or learn the equipment. Ability to work independently and reliably. Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, nights, and weekends. Preferred Pneumatic tanker experience. Cement, fly ash, or other dry-bulk hauling experience. Redi-Mix or concrete industry experience. Where You'll Work You'll be based out of Morris, Inc. in Pierre, South Dakota, with a dedicated route to the Rapid City area and back. This position involves working independently for much of the day while maintaining communication with Morris personnel and the material supplier.
