As a dedicated driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students, assisting with wheelchair accessibility, and maintaining a positive environment on every trip. Your commitment to safety and excellent customer service will help foster a secure and welcoming experience for all passengers. Duties Safely operate school or transit buses during designated afternoon routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of students.
Hours:
~3:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Monday - Friday, during the school year) Follow traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at all times to ensure compliance and passenger safety. Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies by applying defensive driving techniques and emergency stop procedures. Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and emergency responders when necessary to coordinate safe transportation. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before trips, report any maintenance issues promptly, and ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained. Adhere to school policies regarding student discipline, behavior management, and passenger safety protocols. Requirements Valid Texas driver's license. Proven experience in bus driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation preferred.
Driving Record:
Must have a clean driving record (MVR background check required) Knowledge of traffic laws, emergency response procedures for transportation, and transportation safety regulations. Experience working with children or in environments requiring behavior management skills. Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse student populations. Certification in first aid and CPR is required.
Safety & Background:
