Full-Time About the Position Independence Coffee Company is seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Driver & Merchandiser to join our growing team. This position is responsible for managing daily deliveries of Independence Coffee Company products to retail customers throughout the Houston area, while also ensuring our products are properly stocked, rotated, displayed, and represented in each store. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional driver who takes pride in being on time, keeping an organized vehicle and warehouse, maintaining accurate inventory, and building strong relationships with store personnel. This is a hands-on position that combines driving, warehouse management, inventory control, customer service, delivery, and retail merchandising. Key Responsibilities Direct Store Delivery Arrive at the Tomball-area warehouse and depart for the daily Houston-area route at 5:00 AM. Safely operate a company delivery vehicle throughout the Houston metropolitan area. Ensure the delivery vehicle has been properly stocked and organized during the previous afternoon for the following day's route. Deliver coffee and related products to assigned retail locations. Check in with appropriate store personnel upon arrival. Verify purchase orders, invoices, quantities, and delivered products. Obtain required signatures and documentation. Communicate professionally with store managers, receivers, department managers, and other retail personnel. Resolve delivery discrepancies or customer concerns promptly and professionally. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional delivery vehicle. Retail Merchandising Stock Independence Coffee Company products on shelves, displays, and designated retail locations. Rotate product according to FIFO (first-in, first-out) practices. Ensure shelves are full, clean, organized, and properly faced. Maintain appropriate product placement and displays. Check product dates and report damaged or outdated product as appropriate. Monitor inventory levels at each assigned store. Identify out-of-stock conditions and communicate opportunities for replenishment. Take initiative to improve product presentation and visibility within store guidelines. Build positive working relationships with store personnel. Represent Independence Coffee Company professionally at every customer location. Small Warehouse Management Manage the day-to-day organization and cleanliness of the Tomball-area warehouse. Receive, unload, organize, and store incoming product. Maintain accurate warehouse inventory. Pick and stock the delivery vehicle during the afternoon for the following morning's route. Conduct regular inventory counts and communicate discrepancies. Properly rotate warehouse inventory using FIFO practices. Keep products organized and readily accessible for daily deliveries. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. Communicate inventory needs and potential shortages to management. Assist with receiving shipments and moving product as needed. Afternoon Route Preparation An important responsibility of this position is preparing for the following day's deliveries.

The driver will:

Review the following day's delivery schedule. Pick the appropriate products and quantities from warehouse inventory. Load and organize the delivery vehicle in the afternoon. Verify product quantities against delivery requirements. Ensure the vehicle is ready for an efficient 5:00 AM departure. Identify inventory shortages or discrepancies before the next day's route. Maintain an organized warehouse and staging area. Inventory & Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate delivery and inventory records. Complete required delivery paperwork and electronic documentation. Communicate daily delivery and merchandising activity to management. Report damaged products, shortages, overages, and customer issues. Monitor inventory at both the warehouse and assigned retail locations. Assist management in identifying trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve service. Customer Service The DSD Driver & Merchandiser is one of the most visible representatives of Independence Coffee Company.

Required Qualifications Previous professional driving and/or DSD delivery experience strongly preferred. Valid Texas driver's license with an impeccable driving record. Clean and safe driving history. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent attendance and punctuality. Ability to consistently depart the warehouse at 5:00 AM. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to safely lift, carry, and move cases of coffee and other products. Ability to repeatedly lift approximately 50 pounds. Comfortable working in retail stores, warehouses, loading areas, and delivery environments. Basic computer/smartphone skills for inventory, delivery, and communication systems.

Physical Requirements This position requires regular physical activity, including: Loading and unloading a delivery vehicle. Lifting and carrying cases of coffee and other products. Moving product within retail stores and the warehouse. Standing and walking for extended periods. Bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Ability to safely handle products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Typical Workday Afternoon — Previous Day Review following day's route. Pick required products from warehouse inventory. Stock and organize the delivery vehicle. Verify quantities and delivery paperwork. Ensure the vehicle is ready for the following morning. Complete warehouse organization and inventory responsibilities. 5:00 AM — Departure Depart the Tomball-area warehouse with the fully loaded delivery vehicle. Begin Houston-area delivery route. Morning-Early Afternoon Check in with stores. Deliver product. Stock shelves and displays. Rotate inventory. Merchandise products. Verify store inventory. Communicate with store personnel. Address customer needs or delivery issues. Approximately 1:00 PM Complete daily route and return to the warehouse as required. Reconcile paperwork and inventory. Address any outstanding delivery or customer issues. Begin preparation for the following day's route as appropriate.
