Position Overview:

Our company specializes in precision machine and welded components. We are looking for a highly motivated, highly skilled team player that work well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy rewarding projects. The purpose of the driving position is to safely and effectively transport Ducworks material to and from vendors and customers. In this position, the driver will be a critical part of the company as he/she represents Ducworks, Inc. This individual must be professional and keep a neat, clean appearance at all times. Efficiency is always a critical concern. Generally, deliveries will be made with a one-ton flatbed, with trailer.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Class A CDL
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job. Essential Job Functions
• The driver is responsible for the proper maintenance and upkeep of the company vehicles and equipment related to the vehicles (straps, chains, binders, etc.)
• The driver must demonstrate the ability to drive in both large and small cities with some interstate travel and oversize loads.
• The driver must be able to safely drive, load, unload and protect materials from the outside elements (snow, rain, wind, etc.) in the most efficient manner.
• The driver must have a current D.O.T medical card and maintain it throughout employment.
• The Driver must report any traffic violations that occur during employment.
• The driver will keep in close contact with his/her direct supervisor, and maintain phone contact between project managers, lead supervisors, customers and contractors.
• Have a flexible schedule and be able to occasionally start early and work late as needs dictate.
• Be willing and able to work in the yard with the shipping department when there are no deliveries to be made, or when finished early.

Tasks:

• Load and unload vehicles with proper materials as directed by supervisor.
• Have correct paperwork signed by the customers and or contractors.
• Keep vehicles fueled and fluids full.
• Operate company forklifts to move materials. Maintain current forklift certification provided by company.
• Help yard employees with tasks in and around shop when not driving.
• Package and clean customers parts. Help with tagging and identifying parts.
• Notify supervisor immediately if driving conditions are unsafe.
• Use ratchets, binders, straps, shrink wrap, steel strapping and other methods to safely secure products without damaging products.
• Use maps and/or GPS to pre-plan the most efficient way to deliver and pick up customers product.
• Use logbook when traveling over 150 miles.
• Fill out daily timecards and logs for each job worked on for the day.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer.

Loading:

• Load the right job with the right parts at the right time, etc.
• Verify material being picked up from vendors is correct

Delivering:

• Deliver in a sequence that allows you to deliver and pick up material based on customer's schedule. Often contractors and superintendents need material on job sites at scheduled times.
• Know your customers hours of operation or call-in advance.
• Check off packing lists and hand shippers with the customer to ensure parts and product is all accounted for.

Pay:

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
