Part-Time Patient Transportation Van Driver Community Health Center of the New River Valley (CHCNRV) is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and service-oriented Part-Time Patient Transportation Van Driver to help our patients access the healthcare they need. Transportation can be a significant barrier to receiving medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare. In this role, you will make a meaningful difference by safely transporting patients from their homes to their scheduled appointments and returning them home after their visit. What You'll Do Safely operate the CHCNRV patient transportation van to transport patients to and from scheduled appointments. Pick up patients at their homes and transport them to the appropriate CHCNRV location. Return patients safely to their homes following their appointments. Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate customer service to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Assist patients as they enter and exit the vehicle when needed. Help patients feel comfortable and welcome during their transportation experience. Follow established transportation schedules and communicate promptly regarding delays, changes, or concerns. Perform basic vehicle safety checks and maintain the cleanliness of the van. Follow all CHCNRV policies and procedures related to patient safety, confidentiality, HIPAA, and transportation. Maintain appropriate boundaries and professionalism when interacting with patients. Report any safety concerns, incidents, or patient issues to the appropriate CHCNRV staff member. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Dependable and punctual. Friendly, patient, and compassionate. Comfortable interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. A safe and conscientious driver. Able to communicate effectively with patients and CHCNRV staff. Able to maintain patient confidentiality. Comfortable assisting patients with mobility needs, as appropriate. Able to work independently while following established procedures. Qualifications Valid Virginia driver's license with a safe driving record. Previous professional driving, transportation, healthcare, customer service, or human services experience is preferred. Experience working with older adults, individuals with disabilities, or other populations who may experience transportation barriers is a plus. Must successfully complete required background and driving record checks. Must meet all CHCNRV requirements for operating a patient transportation vehicle. Part-Time | Approximately 16-20 hours per week
Compensation Range:
