Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Delivery Driver and Lumber Yard Associate, where you'll be the vital link between our warehouse operations and our valued customers. This energetic role combines the excitement of delivering building materials with the hands-on experience of assisting in a bustling lumber yard. You'll be responsible for safely transporting products, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service—all while adhering to safety and traffic regulations.

Also during slower times of the delivery week the driver will be assisting in day to day operations at the Sawmill which includes stacking lumber, tailing the Edger, or tailing a planner if need be, also maintenance, and putting orders together. Responsibilities Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including flatbed trucks, HOTSHOT loads, and personal vehicles for local deliveries.BE AVAILABLE FOR OVER THE ROAD LOADS TYPICALLY UNDER 26K.
When no loads are available employee will assist with sawmill production. Load, unload, and organize building materials using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Follow established routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Deliver products directly to customers' locations, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and professional service. Assist in managing inventory within the lumber yard, including moving materials and maintaining organized storage areas. Use mobile devices to document deliveries, update logs, and communicate with team members in real-time. Support warehouse operations by handling heavy lifting tasks safely and participating in routine material handling activities. QualificationsMUST HAVE A LICENSE
(CDL preferred). NO current moving violations in the past 3 years.CURRENT MEDICAL DOT PHYSICAL CARD. 2 LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION.
Some mechanical experience. Proven delivery driver experience with a clean driving record; commercial driving or courier experience is advantageous. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles such as box trucks or vans confidently. Experience with manual handling, moving heavy materials, and using equipment like pallet jacks or material handling tools. Knowledge of safety practices related to heavy lifting, safe lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace. Familiarity with driving regulations including adherence to traffic laws and DOT requirements. Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries. Ability to work physically demanding shifts involving manual labor, lifting heavy items safely, and moving materials efficiently.
